1) What is the purpose of a music video? To highlight and show the meaning of the song in a video so people can understand. It also could show off dances for the song and so on.  Music videos were originally designed as a  promotional device  to sell the band or artist’s music but have developed over time to become a recognised artform or product in their own right. Modern music videos no longer have the huge budgets of the 1980s and 1990s but digital media means they are now more accessible than ever. 1) What does the article suggest regarding the traditional audience for foreign-language subtitled media? The article suggests that when watching foreign language TV, traditional audiences will be solely reading the subtitles, rather than actually watching what is happening on screen. 2) What does Walter Iuzzolino suggest is the key appeal of his 'Walter Presents' shows? The key appeal is that all of the episodes are available to view at once, meaning that audiences can binge watch  the box sets at a time, allowing them to be immersed in another story line and location at a time. 3) The article makes an interesting claim for the popularity of subtitles in the multi-screen age. Why does it suggest that  Capital  features a left-wing ideology?  Capital is seen to show different ethnic working class groups who are seen to be working hard in their lives to support themselves or their family. An example being Quentina, an immigrant from Africa who works illegally and extremely hard to support herself and earn a living. 1) Read the section on Strinati's five ways to define postmodernity. What examples are provided of the breakdown of the distinction between culture and society (media-isation)? The example provided in the first way to define postmodernism is Sacha Baron Cohen's characters Borat and Bruno. For the second way to define postmodernism, the example given is Big Brother as it celebrates people who are famous, for the reason of being famous, without any interesting qualities or talents.
